Set in the grounds of the famous Jodrell Bank deep space observatory, Bluedot  is a ground-breaking festival of discovery and innovation. Taking place in the breathtaking setting surrounding the iconic Lovell Telescope, Bluedot festival features an exciting line-up of technology, science, art and music for all ages. 

Throughout the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • marvel at fascinating science experiments,
  • participate in star gazing sessions,
  • be inspired by leaders in space and science research,
  • experience celebrations of technological innovation,
  • immerse themselves in cosmic culture workshops,
  • enjoy outstanding musical and comedy performances from artists such as Goldfrapp, Alt-J, Pixies and Mr Scruff.

The festival will feature a number of enticing options for festival-goers, such as the Outer Space area, the Luminarium, Star Pavilion and the Planetarium.  Attendees will be invited to enjoy an immersive celestial experience and amazing fire, sound and light installations. Furthermore, it has been announced that on the opening night of the festival, the programme includes Compagnie De Quidams, a French theatre company who will host their spectacular performance entitled ‘Herbert’s Dream’.
