Abstract
Improving Health with Smartphone Apps and Wearable Devices

Smartphone apps and wearable devices have the potential to improve health for people with a wide range of long-term conditions. The Health eResearch Centre have developed two platforms to aid research in this area:
· ClinTouch – A smartphone app platform for longitudinal data collection. So far this has been applied to severe mental illness and rheumatoid arthritis but has the potential to be used for a wide range of other health challenges
· Sensing Platform – A secure hardware and software platform for collecting and storing data collected from smartphones and wearable devices
As well as explaining more about these platforms and associated projects, I will also talk about potential future healthcare applications for these technologies.

All welcome, no booking is necessary.
