Manchester Metropolitan Research & Innovation Showcase

Time: 09.00-15.30

Venue: Manchester Metropolitan University, C0.14 / The Street, John Dalton Building, Manchester

Sorry, this event has now ended.

This free event is an opportunity for industry and clinicians to engage with leading academics and learn of opportunities to develop mutually beneficial collaborations with The Centre for Biomedicine at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The agenda will focus on the Centre’s expertise in image processing, musculoskeletal science, microbiology, nutrition, vascular and cardiovascular pathology, pharmaceutical chemistry, electrochemical sensors, and bioengineering.

Introductory pitches will enable you to identify useful contacts for follow up in one-to-one meetings. There will also be a session on skills and talent, including a feature on higher level apprenticeships, enabling you to make the most out of the new apprenticeship levy.

In the government’s 2014 research excellence assessment, the University was rated 12 out of 94 UK universities for its health research. With state-of-the-art labs and facilities, the Centre collaborates on cutting-edge innovations and potentially life-changing therapies through global networks and partnerships with industry.

To allow you to make the most of your visit, the University would like to invite all participants to Ask an Academic: upload a specific query, challenge or problem that a group of expert researchers will address and if possible suggest a solution. You will receive a written response prior to the meeting and if appropriate an invitation to discuss your query in more detail. We hope this proactive approach will accelerate collaboration.
