Organised as part of the PhD programme in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP), this masterclass will take place on 19-20 April 2018.
This two-day module will review research design for advanced methods and examine quantitative research principles, methods, and examples, patent analytics, and big data for STIP analysis. Instructors for the module: Abdullah Gök and Philip Shapira (Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, Alliance Manchester Business School); Irene Kitsara (World Intellectual property Office, Geneva); Paul Oldham (OneWorld Analytics, Lancaster); and Juan Mateos-Garcia (Nesta, London).
The masterclass module will be held on the University Campus, on 19/4/18 at 10:00-18:00 Room A18, Samuel Alexander Bldg; and on 20/4/18 at 10:00-18:00: Seminar Room E, Crawford House.
PhD students can take the masterclass as a credit course by registering for BMAN80902. Places (audit) are also available in the module for additional PhD students and for post-doctoral researchers, staff, and academic visitors. Preference will be given to registered BMAN80902 students.
