Smart Technologies and Digital Solutions

Time: 09:00 - 15:30

Venue: The Museum of Science and Industry, Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4FP

Sorry, this event has now ended.

This one day 'challenge' event is where you can bring your innovative smart technology and digital solutions to meet the challenges of nuclear decommissioning.

Smart Technology and Digital Solutions – Supporting the Nuclear Decommissioning Mission will introduce the Sellafield Integrated Innovation Teams, presenting the specifics of these latest decommissioning challenges.

The Challenge

The clean-up and decommissioning of the Sellafield site is a complex process, with significant challenges presented by the interconnectivity and hazardous nature of the environments involved. Significant advances could be made if clean up and decommissioning plans could be made on comprehensive and robust datasets.

The use of smart and digital solutions to generate new or compile existing information into an accessible, tangible format to permit formulation of robust plans would drive down costs and accelerate decommissioning timescales.
This event will help you understand the challenges smart technology faces in the arena of nuclear decommissioning and provides the opportunity to discuss with experts how your technologies or innovations could be developed and deployed, and learn more about the financial support available.

Speakers

One of the Sellafield / NNL Executive Team will start the day with a keynote presentation. Other confirmed speakers include Patrick Hall, Development Director at Maddison Ltd and key personnel from Sellafield’s Integrated Innovation Teams.
