The ESRC has awarded an additional £40k to The University of Manchester's Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) to deliver impact and knowledge exchange activities that support the objectives of the RCUK's Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).
The fund will support 3-4 social science-led teams to accelerate the impact of their research through activities such as knowledge exchange workshops and meetings or capacity building workshops designed to develop collaborative research agendas and work-plans. Expressions of interest invited from researchers for proposals (up to £10k) across the following thematic areas:
- water and/or sanitation
- digitisation and data
- food security
Applicants should submit a maximum one page A4 proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org by 26th September 2016 outlining:
- Details of the proposed relationship building activity and the theme it addresses
- Explanation as to how the proposal meets the GCRF agenda and is ODA compliant (see eligibility below)
- Assurance that the activity can be completed by 31st December 2016
- An outline indicative budget – up to £10k (Please check with your Research support service. After initial approval proposals will need to be fully costed by the RSS team)
Please note the ESRC IAA GCRF award to The University ends on 31st December 2016. All IAA project spend must be complete by this date and no extensions will be permitted.
Work supported through this fund must be ODA compliant. Proposals must make clear how their primary purpose is to promote the economic development and welfare of a adeveloping country or countries on the DAC list. Proposals may relate to any country or countries on the DAC list; there are no priority countries.
