Applications are invited for MICRA seedcorn awards for 2016 for research on ageing, with up to £6k available per project.
MICRA are looking for research that is clearly ageing related and interdisciplinary; all discipline areas are encouraged to apply.
The 2016 seedcorn call is their biggest yet, with joint awards with external partners the Centre for Ageing Better, Care & Repair England, the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub, Manchester Metropolitan University and Manchester Health and Social Care Team. Awards are also on offer with the Manchester Regenerative Medicine Network (MaRM) and Dementia@Manchester network.
Specific topics highlighted in the call include regenerative medicine, housing adaptions, ageism, inequalities and health.
The deadline for applications is 1 December 2016 with a requirement that funds are spent by 31 July 2017. Proposed activity must lead to at least one specific outcome such as a research proposal for a research council or a working paper.
The commissioning panel will meet in December with the aim of communicating decisions before Christmas.
