Applications are now open for NHS England's Clinical Entrepreneur Programme offering an exciting opportunity for healthcare scientists who are developing clinical innovations or enterprises to apply to become participants in this prestigious scheme.
The programme is jointly managed by NHS England and Health Education England, and has been developed with more than a year of intensive work with entrepreneurial clinicians, academic leaders, and industry partners. Support on the programme includes:
- Mentoring and coaching scheme from an acclaimed international faculty
- Access to a series of educational 'pit stops' offering bespoke practical sessions on a range of key commerical topics
- Customer matching - establishing relationships with providers/customers to deliver pre-commerical procurement opportunities
- Possible entrepreneurial placements/internships - with industry, charities, social enterprises and public sector organisations with both partner funded and self-funding options
The curriculum covers all aspects of setting up and running a small business, such as attracting investors, applying for funding, and ensuring appropriate corporate governance. A dedicated programme in how to build a start-up is delivered as a series of 'Pitstop' educational events.
