A recently published paper 'Creating an innovation and research culture in a complex system' was developed in collaboration between NIHR and London South Bank University.
The paper was a direct outcome of a seminar focused on the tension between driving change through performance management versus change through improvement and innovation. Discussions were informed by evidence from expert speakers including:
- Prof Jean-Louis Denis, École nationale d’administration publique, Canada
- Prof Ewan Ferlie, King's College London
- Dr. Reena Aggarwal, Registrar at Whittington Hospital
The paper outlines challenges and potential solutions that will enable health & social care to speed up the rate of change and introduce new ways of working quickly and effectively.
