The Joy of Data is presented by Dr Hannah Fry who sees data as the essential bridge between two universes - the tangible, messy world that we see and the clean, ordered world of maths, where everything can be captured beautifully with equations.
The film is an exploration of data past, present and future. Looking at what it is, how it's captured, and telling the story of the engineers of the data ages. Fry examines how data can be used, from a herd of cows wearing pedometers to uncovering Wikipedia's network map, and concludes that data has empowered all of us.
